about me
what I do:I'm a first-year computer science masters' student at McGill University and a researcher at Mila - Quebec AI Institute, supervised by Prof. Jackie Cheung. I did my undergrad at the University of Toronto, where I'm working at the Lee Language Lab (supervised by Prof. Annie Lee) and the social reading technology group (supervised by Prof. Gerald Penn).
my research interests:
multilinguality in natural language processing, cross-lingual transfer, typology.→ see my publications
outside of school:I like cooking/baking, specialty coffee, board games and classical music. at UofT I served as vice president of uoft's astronomy club and academic associate of the CSSU.

- mar 2026:I presented our latest paper on language distances, "Modality Matching Matters: Calibrating Language Distances for Cross-Lingual Transfer in URIEL+", at EACL SRW 2026 (oral & poster) and SIGTYP (oral)!
- feb 2026:our paper, "Simple Additions, Substantial Gains", has been accepted to LREC 2026!
- nov 2025:I presented my first paper, "Less is More: The Effectiveness of Compact Typological Language Representations", at the EMNLP 2025 Main Conference!
